Is Laser Hair Removal Painful?
This is a common initial concern for many of our clients. Our laser uses a special cooling system that lowers the temperature of the skin at the treatment site before, during and after laser exposure. Therefore, the treatment is generally not painful and is well tolerated. While some areas of the body are more sensitive than others, most clients report that waxing is more painful.

Will Laser Hair Removal work for me?
With the technology of the Alexandrite Laser it is possible to treat many skin and hair color combinations. Light skinned, dark haired clients will need fewer treatments.

How many hair removal treatments will I need?
Laser treatment impairs the growth of hair follicles when they are in the anagen (active) cycle. Unfortunately, not all hair follicles are in the anagen stage at the same time. Therefore, for effective permanent hair removal, most people require 6 treatments for the best result. Treatments should be 4-6 weeks apart.

How soon will I see results from my laser hair removal treatments?
Once the destroyed hairs fall out, about 5-10 days after treatment, you will see a reduction of hair. After each treatment your will see less and less hair.

Are there side effects to Laser Hair Removal?
Most people do not experience side effects. Some exhibit short term reddening of the skin, similar to a mild sunburn that typically will resolve itself in a few hours. In rare cases, there may be hyper pigmentation (increased pigmentation) or hypo pigmentation (decreased pigmentation). These conditions are temporary and will go away over time.

How much will laser hair removal cost?
Cost depends on the area to be treated and varies from person to person because of hair density. We do offer package pricing (6 treatments) with a 20% discount.

What body parts can be treated?
The entire body can be treated for male and female, except around the eyes.

What should I do after I am treated?
Following treatment, you can return to your normal activities, and treated areas should be handled with care. You may clean the area using mild soap and water. You should avoid tanning and use sunscreen on any treated areas. You should also avoid use of Retin-A, alpha-hydroxy acids, glycolic acids and astringents.

What should I expect?
Around 5-10 days after treatment, hairs will begin to surface. Most of these hairs were treated and will fall out. It is not re-growth. The hair follicles need to purge the hairs that remained under the skin.  It is okay to shave but do not wax, pluck (tweeze), or bleach hair in between treatments. You may want to use a loofah or face cloth to help remove the hair as it falls out.

Are the results permanent?
Results vary depending on skin and hair type (gray hairs cannot be removed by laser as there is no melanin in the hair). Studies have shown that many clients can achieve permanent hair loss up to 90-95% - any remaining hair returns lighter and softer.
